Craig Starkey
Vice President / Development
Craig Starkey brings to Concord Eastridge more than 25 years of industry experience in several areas of real estate development and real estate financing.
His experience includes over 10 years of real estate finance, including construction lending, bond financing, and permanent financing as well as equity placements. Mr. Starkey's financing experience includes all four of the major real estate areas: multifamily, retail, offices and industrial. Mr. Starkey's development experience includes both office and multifamily projects. His multifamily housing experience includes 5,000 affordable units and approximately 1,500 market rate units.
Mr. Starkey heads up the Orlando, Florida office of Concord Eastridge. He is responsible for new project identification, financial and market feasibility and deal structuring. Additionally, he manages pre-development activities relating to new Concord Eastridge projects including due diligence and consultant management. He currently oversees several projects in Central Florida, including the mixed-use Cristal project in downtown Orlando, a luxury hotel, office and retail tower on Lake Eola.
Summary of Experience
Prior to joining Concord Eastridge, he served as the Vice President of Development (Florida) for Finlay Development. In this role Mr. Starkey was primarily responsible for the development of 600 affordable housing units, both family and senior properties. Mr. Starkey was the primary contact dealing with the Orlando Housing Authority on a 203 mixed income Hope VI project in Orlando, Florida. In addition, his activities included site evaluations and acquisitions.
Previously, Mr. Starkey was the Manager of Development and Special Projects for Winter Park Construction. In this role, Mr. Starkey managed many of the legal issues arising from construction operations. He further handled bonding claims and insurance claims. On the development side, he was responsible for entire development of several apartment projects, as well as office and retail space.
Education/Licenses/Memberships
Mr. Starkey received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. Mr. Starkey also received his MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. Mr. Starkey has been on the Crummer Alumni Board of Directors for over six years. Mr. Starkey is a member of the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando.
