Douglas Viehman
Development Director

Doug Viehman has 23 years of experience in the real estate and building industries. He has a background in all phases of institutional, commercial, and industrial projects. He currently manages public/private projects with a focus on mixed use, infill and University-related and ancillary development.

His responsibilities include:

 - Pre-construction and construction oversight
 - Design consultation
 - Estimating
 - Project management
 - Construction inspection services

Summary of Experience
Trained as a planner and architect, Mr. Viehman’s project management experience extends to public and private projects including design-build, construction management and public-private enterprise delivery methods. Teaming with designers and pre-construction consultants, Mr. Viehman has coordinated proposal development, pre-construction activities, and finalized contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors and vendors.

On Concord Eastridge's behalf, Mr. Viehman managed a design/engineering and construction team at Radford University in Radford, Virginia focused on a master development plan for a 78-acre parcel that was gifted to the Radford Real Estate Foundation. He is actively involved in a joint venture development of a mixed-use project in downtown Raleigh that involves the Wake County government as a development participant and serves as the leader of a multi-disciplinary development team for the Eagle Village project at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a large multi-phased mixed-use redevelopment.

Education/Licenses/Memberships
Mr. Viehman has completed master’s level work in architecture at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in urban studies/environmental design from the University of Wisconsin.
